Do you Travel?
We LOVE to travel! We do have a little family, but we have plenty of family and friends that are willing to watch the kiddo and dog. So if the schedule works, and we are the right fit for your vision, it would be our dream to shoot for you, regardless of location.
Travel reimbursement would be discussed and billed separately, however depending on the location we most likely would be more than willing to give package discounts!
How long have you been doing this?
I have been behind a camera and making authentic connections with people for as long as I can remember, and shooting client work since I have been in high school. The official D&E branding and professional experience was created in 2020.
How many photos do we get?
This really varies between shoots. Other than the shoots that are classified as "Mini Sessions" I will always edit and deliver as many photos as possible. I do not skip editing and delivering photos just to save myself time; instead, I pride myself on editing every photograph individually.
How do we get our photos?
Your photos will be delivered via an online gallery! You will have full printing rights to all the images in the gallery as well. Within the gallery you will not only be able to order prints or albums through a professional photo lab, but you will also be able to download full resolution and web-optimized images for your own use! Giving photo creds to D&E Photography is always greatly appreciated. :)
Do you retouch photos?
I absolutely do. However I typically do not use digital editing to alter anyone's natural features. My goal in editing is to help individuals realize the same appreciation of beauty and personality that others see in them.
Specifically with portraits and senior work, upon request I can do some more intensive editing for skin, eyes, removal of distracting objects, and similar cleanup work. This is above and beyond the normal touchups I make on every photo.
What's your turnaround time?
I edit in the wee hours of the night after my day job and family responsibilities are taken care of. I strive to not overbook, and at the very latest a client receives their full gallery of photos within a month of the shoot. That being said, a more typical turnaround is within 2 weeks, and if individual photos are needed sooner, I do have ways to accommodate a shorter timeframe.
In addition, as a personal preference of mine I do typically have a sneak peek of the shoot out within a couple of days as well.
How do we book you?
You can reach out via phone or email, or use the form submission on this site! Once we receive your inquiry, we will send you a short questionnaire that will help us get to know you a little better, and to better understand your vision for the shoot! After we review the questionnaire and determine our availability, we will send you an invoice for a retainer to lock in the date, and that is it!
If your request is for a wedding, we will schedule an exploratory meeting before our booking becomes official. At that time we will also review our proposed contract to help ensure that everyone is on the same page and that all parties’ interests are safeguarded!
Do you help with planning?
Absolutely! We generally help all of our clients with some level of planning, and are certainly willing to work with other coordinators as necessary.
After all, this is our area of expertise, and we want to make your shoot as problem-free as possible. This is especially true regarding weddings. Our desire is to come alongside you and help relieve the pressure of what can be a very stressful day! Wedding planning should be fun!
How far out do you book?
We generally book our appointments as far as a year in advance, and that’s about it! Special exceptions can be made, however, so reach out to us regardless of the date you have in mind, and we will go from there!
What should we do for an engagement session?
While we offer engagement photos as their own standalone sessions, most of our wedding packages include a free engagement session! So reach out with a wedding inquiry if you are interested, and during the exploratory call we will get an engagement session scheduled. We have found that having the ability for everyone to meet in person and get comfortable with each other in front of (and behind) the camera before the big day is an invaluable opportunity. We love getting to work with couples through the full range of relationship milestones! (That includes potential maternity and family photos in the future!)
What should we wear?
This is a question that has different answers for everyone! But here are a couple simple rules of thumb: earth tones are your friend; and being comfortable is always a priority. Try to avoid “busy” patterns or prints. We want you to be relaxed and confident, and we are here to help! Feel free to text or call us in the days leading up to your shoot, and both my wife and I will be happy to provide ideas and give you some helpful feedback!
